Laser Tattoo Removal
Safe and Effective Nd Yag laser
Whether you're looking to get rid of an unwanted tattoo or its faded or just want something new, we specialize in removing tattoos using laser.
It is widely accepted that laser is the best and safest method of tattoo removal with the lowest chance of scarring. The Nd:Yag laser is considered to be the Gold standard in Tattoo Removal giving safe and effective result with very little risk of side effects.
What does laser tattoo removal involve?
Our Paragon System uses a Nd:Yag laser which produces a high-powered beam of laser light that is omitted onto the tattoo in short pulse. The laser light is absorbed by the tattoo ink particles and not by the surrounding skin. It breaks down the tattoo particles so that your body defences are able to absorb and disperse the ink. This happens after each treatment, resulting in a gradual fading of the tattoo. Darker colours are easily removed whereas light colours can be harder to react or sometimes do not react at all.
Do I need a patch test?
Yes, all patients are given a consultation then a patch test. Your 1st treatment will be at least 7 days after the patch test; this allows the therapist to make sure your skin is reacting ok to the laser.
How does the treatment feel?
While mildly uncomfortable most patients say it feels like “a flick of an elastic band” most patients describe it as moderate to tolerable. Patients who opt to use the Cryo cooler with the tattoo removal say the treatment is significantly more comfortable.
How often are treatments?
Treatments are normally spaced out 4 to 6 weeks apart then gradually work up to 6-8 weeks apart.
How many treatments are necessary?
This depends on several factors, including the density, colour of inks and the age of the tattoo. Amateur tattoos can take approximately 6 to 10 treatments, whereas professional tattoos vary considerably and some can take up to 15 treatments.
